Life

Time is of the essence and I have to live my life to the fullest. I've dealt with a lot of loss lately. I went to a funeral last week and it was an eye opener. This cool metal chap lost his battle with the dreaded "C" word at the tender age of 28. (Cancer for those of you who can't think). He went down fighting and will be missed by all who knew him. We weren't close friends but I knew him since he was little fella and watched him grow up along side my brother who is the same age. He kept his spirits up until the very end. I know he is enjoying all the awesome concerts from the other side. Horns up my friend.....

My Birthday

Yesterday was my 33rd birthday. It was one of the worst weather wise. What can one of Satan's spawn expect? Sunshine and smiles...oh no. Despite the wretched weather I had a wonderful day with my daughter. We hung out and saw numerous Dora episodes and anything else on Noggin. My brother gave me the special edition Buffy the Vampire Slayer box set. I kicked back and watched the extras dvd. Pretty sweet. Sarah and I shared some soup and crackers for lunch. Dinner we had the same and also a cookies and cream cake that Arturo got for me!

DTE

So my little one has gotten to the point in her life where she has to watch movies over and over and over. I thought that wasn't til later.... Oh well... Sarah loves Dora the Explorer. She has a couple of toys, backpacks, clothes, towels, etc. She watches DtE vids almost all day. I have them memorized. She also surprised me because she liked Over the Hedge, so in the evenings we pop that in to stop the DtE madness for a while. I'm patiently waiting for her to grow a bit more so we can dip into the cool toys...like play-doh!

My 1 year old

Yesterday was my daughter's 1st birthday! I took the day off from work so I could spend the whole day with her. What an adventure we had! She was acting extra spoiled as if she knew it was her birthday and after some blood sweat and tears we got our photos taken. I can't believe how fast time flies. Seems like only yesterday that I brought her home. Currently she is babbling constantly and cruising. From time to time she'll let "loose" and take a few steps. I know when she begins to walk my serious exercise will begin!

Death Becomes You...

I'm finding out about too many folks that have died and are in my age range. Last year during Rita's threat an old friend from high school was killed in a horrible accident. She was just promoted at her job and had a newborn. A few days ago someone contacted me through myspace.com asking if I knew this other girl that was in my class because he had heard she passed away. I contacted my friend and after some searching we find out it's true. The strange thing was it would have been this girl's birthday. What's worse...she passed away 3 years ago?!! She was one of the folks that didn't really keep in touch with anyone after we graduated from high school, which is quite possibly why we never found out. I wasn't friends with her but how horrible to die so young. We have lost too many friends and loved ones this year. Makes you really sit back and think about how short life is. All I can do is hope I make it to a ripe old age so that I can watch my daughter grow up....

Work

It's Friday! I'll finally get that extra 2 minutes of sleep this weekend! Ha ha... Work has been mad busy. We are moving offices next week and have been packing and trying to do our work at the same time. No time to breathe, must work. We are separating from our former parent company and my team is in the midst of building our new infrastructure. We are hammering out details of new HR and payroll systems (ugh) amongst a million other things. Does anybody work near the airport?

Home life isn't a cake walk either. Trying to plan my girl's first birthday party! Have the major stuff taken care of just have to review the guestlist again because I'm sure I've forgotten folks, order the cake, and finally the party favors.

Aside from that I have NO time to do much of anything else. Although I did invest in a satellite radio and totally diggin it because the "free" radio we have here in town just doesn't cut it for me. I have all shades of cool rock stations, so I prance back and forth between them while I'm in the car. Hard Attack is currently my favorite station with Hair Nation coming in 2nd place. Yea, I listen to hair metal, AND? I have never claimed to be "trve" or "kvlt"....so get over it...

In closing I hope to sleep some this weekend because next week is gonna be pure hell at work. Makes me daydream about going home to that sweet little face that is ready to beat me to a pulp as she tries to include me in her playtime routine. I think I've become some sort of punching bag for her... LMAO
